Hexane:
Hexane is a compound with six carbons that can 6 different structures (isomers) and names. Hexane, also known as n-Hexane, is the a straight chain of carbons, which is denoted by the "n" ("N" stands for normal). However there are branched hexanes with various names: 2-methylpentane (Isohexane), 3-methylpentane, 2,3-dimethylbutane, and 2,2-dimethylbutane (Neohexane).
Market Dynamics:
Hexanes are significant constituents of gasoline. however, the main demand for material is seed oil extraction.
Other applications includes adhesives, cleansing and degreasing as well as in the laboratory as a chromatography solvent.
